Personal Development

For the past couple of days I got immersed into reading the excellent Personal Development articles by Steve Pavlina. He has shared his rich experienced insights on a wide array of topics that one could ask for.

I have joined his Million Dollar Experiment and I put forward my intention:
"In an easy and relaxed manner, in a healthy and positive way, in its own perfect time, for the highest good of all, I intend $1,000,000 to come into my life and into the lives of everyone who holds this intention."

Katrina

There is no doubt that hurricane Katrina is one of the most devastating natural disasters in the history of the United States. I have to salute to the efforts of the national guards, volunteers, sate, local and federal workers. But I feel since due the inexperience of disasters like these we are unable to help the victims in terms of getting basic necessities with urgency. I think we must also address the stagnating water issue by applying (spraying) appropriate chemicals to prevent the spread of diseases.

Wakeup Pakis - This is 2005!

"Dr Shazia Khalid was raped on January 2nd , allegedly by an army officer while performing her duty as a medical officer for Pakistan Petroleum Limited in Sui, Balochistan. Her rapist was never caught and the Government of Pakistan forced her to leave Pakistan and left her stranded in the United Kingdom, where she is currently seeking asylum"

moving mela -- ny to ct

I moved out of NYC this weekend. It was tough to move out actually both emotionally and literally. No doubt NYC is a great place to live and commute. It was a definitely a mela for us to move. We had to pack things, find a mover, negotiate with him and finally move. Anyways last saturday we finally moved to Stamford, CT. I like this city very much esp there no city tax ;)

swades - one side of the coin

I saw swades today, I felt it is one side of the coin. Definitely the movie is very good and I never felt bored throughout the screenplay. The message it conveyed to me seems to be one-sided. The film portrays that the general public is very honest or atleast would accept true realities. But the reality is quite different. If someone wants to do some service then there would be major force of people who would try to spoil it. For example after tsunami Vivek Oberio adopted the village Thevanampattinam in Tamil Nadu and did some good work. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu gave him this praise!

I don't mean to suggest that no one should think of doing good service. But the greater problem with attitude of the Indian public must be changed. India needs an attitude revolution of some kind!

masala is mixed well!

I saw chandramukhi couple of days before! I didnt have the same feeling that I had after returning from Baba or Padayappa either. To me "kantham" of Rajinikanth is gone and only Rajini is there. Still not bad, thalaivar has done a pretty good job and I felt that the masala is mixed well. Its definitely worth seeing once, so if you haven't you better do.

i stumbled upon this joke..

These four guys were walking down the street, a Saudi, a Russian, a North Korean, and a New Yorker.
A reporter comes running up and says, "Excuse me, what is your opinion about the meat shortage?"
The Saudi says, "Excuse me, what's a shortage?"
The Russian says, "Excuse me, what's meat?"
The North Korean says, "Excuse me, what's an opinion?"
The New Yorker, says, "Excuse me? What's excuse me?

highly inspired

Today I read a quote online and I am highly inspired by its meaning... its here..

Bajirao Peshwa (1700 – 1740 AD) who never once tasted defeat in 36 battles. He once told his brother Chimnaji, "Remember that night has nothing to do with sleep. It was created by God, to raid territory held by our vastly superior enemy"

Enneagram

"Enneagram" is an art of studying personality types and could be used to find ways to work with people by understanding their inner types. The concept is that every person will have one core inner personality from his birth and it cant be changed. It talks about 9 different personality types and everyone would fall under one of them. It also groups personality types into 3 distinct Triad. Each triad would have 3 personality types. If you are interested its worth having a click.
